We are thrilled to announce
THE FIRST GATHERING IN CROATIA
in OPATIJA
September 13-20, 2025 (Saturday to Saturday)
The girl on the headland reaches out to a seagull and to you lovely Faeries!
We admit honestly, this Faerie Gathering will again be a challenge for us as LGBTIQ+ community, but we gladly take this chance and will bring some Faerie stardust into this space.
A touch of elegance of days gone by can still be felt in the charming seaside resort of Opatija. Faeries, stars and starlets meet here, as well as ordinary vacationers. Opatija is a special place, a somewhat different Croatia. Lovers of opulent subtropical vegetation, light and sea air, ornate architecture and chic cafés on the Opatija Riviera, outdoor enthusiasts and sun worshippers on the beaches will be delighted.

Out of context, it’s easy to dismiss this quotation as hopelessly naive or optimistic. But it’s complicated. For Dostoevsky, at least as we see it, „beauty” transcends aesthetics, and is what inspires the best in us, our aspirations for what is good and true, and what connects us to each other. We need beauty more than ever and the beauty in all of us inspires us for this gathering.
We will celebrate a City and Beach Gathering, which for the first time will take place in this country, and at the Adria. We are very much looking forward to many loving and interested Faeries from all over the world.

and share it with others
Let’s embrace this spirit together, celebrating eight days of love, memories, creativity, heart space and community in an intimate seaside setting!
Join us to create Faerie magic in a comfortable house above Opatija, near the sea and the beach.
Opatija is a seaside resort on the Kvarner Bay on the Istrian peninsula in north-western Croatia at the Mediterranean Sea. For those who don’t want to go to the beach, we also have a swimming pool and a whirlpool with a terrace next to the house.
YOUR ACTIVITIES:
You can expect structure to arise, however, from the people attending. There will be an opening circle, heart circles, workshops, a closing ceremony and other Faerie activities. You can also expect an introduction talk to new faeries, an auction, if possible, a No Talent Show, rituals, tours around and much more.
Of course, we will prepare together delicious vegetarian/vegan meals and the usual delightful Faerie chaos playfulness, and drag for us all to submerge ourselves into!
Let’s come together in the spirit of openness to new experiences, healing, and the joy and creativity that is our Faerie nature.
Like all Faerie events, this is co-created and self-managed. Everyone is welcome to contribute. We all take responsibility to create a magical space, to help each other and the organisers, to take care of ourselves and the others and to help cooking, serving and dishwashing and that we don’t waste our resources in this sober, alcohol- AND drug-free gathering..
It will be quite an intimate gathering with space for
a maximum of 16 Faeries, so if you’re seriously interested, check your dates and register soon! (There is only one place left!)
OUR LOCATION:
We booked a modern three storey-house, situated above Opatija, 2.5 km from the centre of Opatija, in a quiet, sunny position, 2.5 km from the sea and the beach. Seven bedrooms for 2 (or 3) people are available in the house. We forward detailed information about our location after receiving your registration.
Join us for this magical unusual gathering with lots of pioneering, and scenic beauties.
Contribution and Registration Fee:
Your requested contribution for the whole gathering (without food outside the venue) is: € 300/350 (8 days/7 nights). Higher donations are appreciated and welcome.
We expect you to stay for the whole gathering.
We may sometimes go out eating in restaurants on individual payment.
In the powerful Radical Faerie tradition, we do our best to follow the NOTAFLOF (No One Turned Away For Lack Of Funds) and GAYABAGS (Give as you are able, but always give something). Contact us if you have questions.
Faeries who have serious problems to pay their travel costs please contact us gathering organizers and explain us the situation. There is an opportunity for us organizers to get a travel funding for Faeries in need under limited conditions from the Radical Faeries of Europe (Eurofaeries).
NOTE:
Please register, but only if you seriously want to come! We will confirm your place in the gathering until April 30. Please note that, because of the limited bed situation and the fact that we have to pay the accommodation in advance, your registration is afterwards only fix after you have PAID at least half of your agreed contribution! We will forward you our bank coordinates together with the confirmation of your bed.
There is a waiting list in case of overbooking!
HOW TO GET THERE?
There are trains and buses to Opatija or you may fly to Rijeka (RJK) from where you can easily reach Opatija. We will send more detailed information with our first newsletter.
